Dr Lasseter is a clinical pharmacologist certified by the American
Board of Clinical Pharmacology. He also had residency training and
is board eligible in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. His research
career started on the faculty of the University of Miami School
of Medicine where he and E. Cooper Shamblen developed a Clinical
Pharmacology Research Unit.
In 1977, they founded Clinical Pharmacology Associates, inc. (CPA)
and opened one of the first research units in the private sector.
CPA became one of the most successful such units in the burgeoning
CRO industry. Stacy C Dilzer, R.N., BSN, joined them and became
the clinical director and operational head of the organization.
In 2003, CPA merged to form the largest free standing clinical pharmacology
research unit in the world. This organization ceased Phase I research
business in the United States in 2006 and the idea for Clinical
Pharmacology of Miami, Inc was spawned from the real need for a
high quality clinical pharmacology research unit.
Dr Lasseter, Stacy Dilzer and Cooper Shamblen
have a combined 90+ years of research experience and have conducted
over 1200 clinical studies. Dr Lasseter has published over 250 articles
and abstracts in the areas of Clinical Pharmacology, reporting the
work that they have done. Dr. Lasseter truly has a national and
international reputation as an outstanding clinical pharmacologist
and Principal Investigator.
